Does the invite say “Interview to replace Mrs. scarykicks?

If yes, consult an employment attorney bc there might be something happening and getting a consultation won’t hurt.

If not, all you know for sure is that are interviewing for a position. Perhaps it is a position just like your wife’s. But that’s all you know so far. You can still get a consultation bc, who knows, she might get a decent severance package. Or she waits for it to play out.

    > Recently, a high level executive at my wife’s company used racist terminology when referring to people of color

    What exactly did they say?

If she’s mistaken in her interpretation, then this entire thing is different.

Some people perceive pretty normal things as racism.

My colleague was once reported for using the actual name of an Aboriginal people rather than just saying “Aboriginal folks”, because the person who made the report thought it was a racist term.

And just because there was an investigation doesn’t mean that it was a legitimate complaint: Many businesses will conduct at least a notional “investigation” in response to all complaints. The investigation may have also been conducted to confirm that nothing untoward happened.

For clarity, I think this executive probably did say something genuinely racist. It’s just that details matter.
