Only US and Eritrea (?) have taxation based on citizenship, I don’t see it catching on…it is “insane”…

it is what makes US citizens unable to get “1st world” banking services in my country, banks here just don’t want the hassle…

particularly in the EU where the “whole point” is “freedom of movement” and the established principle for taxation in the EU is residency…I dont think individual member countries are even “allowed” to change it…

This question is so vague, no one can possibly help you

  • MiceAreTiny

Small chance. I would not worry about that specific aspect.

Furthermore, you can do absolutely nothing to prevent it either.

The post is unnecessarily vague in the way that it’s written. Nobody is really going to find out who you are by you saying what country you’re going to, lol.

Anyways, as it’s been told before, in Europe we don’t have taxation based on citizenship (in fact, most of the world doesn’t, only the US and Eritrea), so you don’t have to worry about that.

As for the conscription, it depends on your age, really. I think past 35 you’re unlikely to be called for a war, and also Europe has been stable so far (although could potentially change in the near future), but there are ways to escape war, like if you’re a conscious objector.
