## Finding a Solution for Direct Zelle Payments

So, besides the traditional method of withdrawing cash from an ATM and depositing it into an account that can transfer to Zelle, are there any other options available for direct Zelle payments?

I am looking to streamline my bill payments, especially rent. I attempted to enter my dx card information via the Zelle app, but encountered an issue where it stated that it does not accept prepaid cards. This limitation proves to be a hindrance when attempting to make payments, even for utilities. It can be quite frustrating.

Many have suggested setting up a direct deposit to a bank account as a solution. However, I face a unique challenge as I have a representative person, my mother, assigned to my account. This arrangement initially stemmed from difficulties I encountered in obtaining social security benefits but has since simplified matters significantly. Despite any reservations, this is my current set-up.

In addition to my existing challenges, I have faced health issues, including a stroke resulting in memory loss, as well as a heart attack, seizure, and severe breathing difficulties. Despite these setbacks, with the assistance of my mother, I maintain a level of independence and am responsible for my own finances.

Given my limited mobility, inability to drive, and difficulty in using public transportation, I am in urgent need of a solution to pay my rent through Zelle. I am aware that individuals receiving disability benefits are able to use Zelle for rent payments and other expenses. I am confident that a viable solution exists; however, I have been unable to successfully execute payments through Zelle, causing added frustration and stress.

the people on disability paying bills with Zelle don’t have rep payees

If you have a rep payee, you are not supposed to be paying your rent yourself. Your rep payee is responsible to pay your rent and other regular expenses with your money. and then can transfer a reasonable amount of money to you for things that you want to buy.

If you don’t need and/or want a rep payee, you need your doctor to write that it is not necessary and you need to apply with SSA to become your own Payee. and then you can just get your payment in a bank account that has Zelle.

Is your mother still your named representative payee? Or did you get it changed to yourself? If your mother is your representative payee, then she needs to be managing your money. If she is just passing the money from SSA directly to you, then she is not doing her job and she should be removed as your representative payee. That will happen when SSI finds out.

If you are your own payee, it means you showed SSA that you were able to manage your own benefits. Your doctor would have completed a form SSA 787 and you would have applied. It is really not that difficult. Perhaps it is the payee issue that is creating your problem. You are trying to manage money that someone else is responsible for managing.

If you are your own payee, you could have direct deposit to a bank that allows Zelle to access the bank account.

I understand all worry and concern here. There is far more to my case than explained.

I simply need help with what I asked.

I speak with actual lawyers who are specialized in social security cases through my hospital. This thing now that I have is fine but it’s just an annoyance.

I need help with what I asked.

I don’t need help with the payee thing. For the record the last time I tried to take her off lol even with my doctor’s stating I was able and all that. I went into their designated offices to see their own doctors to prove myself. I wasn’t considered disabled enough by then and it was a shit storm for a few months and I needed the hospital lawyers to help me rectify it. I don’t understand. I don’t want her as the payee but here we are.

I just need help with what I asked. I don’t want help with the payee thing. I have lawyers to do that. So if we can just do that I’d be very appreciative.
