Rate My Agent make their money from REAs.
It would be detrimental to their business if they published negative reviews of their source of income.
The entire industry should be nuked and the new system should be heavily regulated.

Any price submitted to a REA is going to be shopped. Just like when they say “seller is prepared to sell prior to auction” is just to find out what kind of offers they’re gonna get.
IÔÇÖm an agent and yes itÔÇÖs a scam. Your best bet is to leave a 2-3 star review and say in there that 1 star is what they deserve.

These ‘middleman’ sites act purely as lead generators for agents. Agents actually hate them, as the site will take a % of each commission.

They’re well within their rights to do this and as a seller I’d expect the agent to attempt to get a better price.
Hot tip but you can pay companies to scrub your google reviews too. Always be wary of anyone with flawless ratings.

I know several people that work there – their business practices are immoral at best. They are the “Yelp” of the REA world and anything can be “bought”. I’m fairly sure that’s one of the benefit of their pricing tiers – you never get a negative review or they simply remove it.
This is not a place for transparency, it’s quite the opposite. The problem is that nobody would make money from being transparent, so nobody does it.
You arenÔÇÖt the paying customer of real estate websites. TheyÔÇÖre to funnel you -the product, to the paying customer – the agent.
Why do you think categories that would absolutely be desirable to buyers and if known widely and more comparable would negatively impact the appeal of a property (as simple as NBN type) never make an appearance?

I had a similar experience from realestate.com.au, everything I wrote that was nothing but the truth was considered ÔÇ£defamationÔÇØ and kept getting knocked back. I had put in 4 different versions knocked back but I was determined to give him a 1 star, I eventually got it but my comments were only 2 sentences. Disappointing but I assumed because the REA was constantly putting ads on the site theyÔÇÖd try and look after him.
Its a real estate agent rating site basically rate my poo in nature. Might be 5 star but its still a turd.
The agent works for the seller not the buyer!
