Business by the Bay: Pitch Your Future Event Showcases Local Entrepreneurs

Five local entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their future business plans at the State Theatre in Bay City on Nov. 8. The event, called “Business by the Bay: Pitch Your Future,” is organized by Bay Future, Inc. and the Michigan Small Business Development Center. Its main purpose is to promote small business prosperity and economic growth within Bay County’s entrepreneurial community.

The event is specifically targeting start-up or for-profit businesses in Bay County that have been operating for two years or less and have generated less than $1 million in revenue. From a pool of candidates, five finalists have been chosen, and they will compete for cash awards ranging from $5,000 for the grand prize, to $3,500 for second place, and $1,500 for third place.

Supportive and Talented Pool of Candidates

Michelle Judd, Small Business Development Center contract business consultant for Bay County, expressed her excitement about the quality of the selected candidates. She described them as a savvy and well-rounded group of individuals who have shown tremendous potential. During training sessions, participants have been actively engaging with each other, exchanging helpful tips, and providing valuable feedback on their respective business plans. Judd believes that these start-ups have a bright future ahead.

An Evening of Pitch Presentations

The event will kick off at 5 p.m. with a reception, followed by the pitch event from 6-8 p.m. The entrepreneurs will present their business plans to a panel of industry experts and a live audience at the historic State Theatre in downtown Bay City.

This unique opportunity to present in front of a panel of judges and a live audience will not only provide valuable exposure but also valuable feedback and advice from industry professionals. The event aims to support these local entrepreneurs in their journey towards success.

Open to the Public

The “Business by the Bay: Pitch Your Future” event is open to the public, and admission is free. This allows community members and aspiring entrepreneurs to come and witness the innovative ideas being presented and to be a part of the growth and development of the local business community.

The event has received sponsorship from Huntington Bank, who has endorsed the event as the title sponsor. Their support contributes to the success and impact of the event.
