## Financial Comparison of SIPP Providers

Assuming no other factors than financial charges for selecting a SIPP provider, I have narrowed down the options to AJ Bell and Interactive Investors. AJ Bell charges 0.25% of your funds under 250k and 0.10% after, making it the lowest percentage out there, but it still scales. On the other hand, Interactive Investors has a flat fee of 5.99 under 50k and 12.99 over that.

### Cost Efficiency Analysis

By doing some simple math, here’s a breakdown of what’s more cost-effective (ignoring dealing fees):

– 0 – 28.8k: AJ Bell is the better option
– 28.8k – 50k: Interactive Investors is the better choice
– 50-62.4k: AJ Bell is more cost-effective
– 62.4k +: Interactive Investors becomes the better option

### Strategy Considerations

Given this profile, would it be worth starting with AJ Bell and then transferring over to Interactive Investors? It is important to consider that there may be transfer fees involved, but it is essential to see the full financial picture before making a decision. Alternatively, should I go straight for Interactive Investors as the long-term goal, assuming it will even out in the end?

### AI Legalese Decoder Assistance

The AI Legalese Decoder can be very helpful in this situation by providing a detailed analysis of the terms and conditions of both AJ Bell and Interactive Investors, highlighting any hidden fees or clauses that may impact the overall cost-effectiveness of the SIPP. It can also compare the long-term benefits of both providers based on your monthly contributions and projected retirement timeline, ensuring that you make an informed decision that aligns with your financial goals.

### Additional Context

This is my first time building a SIPP, and I plan to contribute between 1-3k per month. Retirement is not imminent, so it is crucial to make a decision that sets a strong financial foundation for the future. Your insights and any other unknown providers or factors that I may not have considered would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I always go for the best (cheapest) provider that offers the investments I require, and transfer in specie as the situation evolves.

You can only manage in the here and now, and leave considerations of the future to, well the future.  Afterall things can change.

I think vanguard is cheaper at 0.15% till £100k, then interactive investor.

Also InvestEngine is 0.15% and cap at £200, so II cheaper between £100k and £135k. So I would start and end with them as with growth savings not worth hassle to me.

    Also confirm no purchasing costs.

Edit: see last-woodpecker1047 for better than above for higher amounts.

Why not invest in ETFs and enjoy the £120 fee cap with AJ Bell or the £90 fee cap with Fidelity?

I use ii for ISA, GIA, SIPP and JISAS. I just prefer being able to see everything in one place. I like the platform and have thought about cheaper options but have just stuck with it.

Although when my free SIPP fees run out I may consider transferring just the SIPP out as it costs £10 a month when you are on the investor plan.

You can get a years free subscription too if you have 10k to invest/pension, or it says it can be over the 12 months but it only starts when you hit that amount.
