What you can save depends on what your income and expenses are. And do you know why you spend so much?
Don’t worry too much about saving right now, just stop spending on shit you don’t need. If things get to tough, call your parents.
How do you not feel the effects of being broke if you feel like spending so much? Is it on credit? 20% is fair if you have income. Probably more until you have some reserve funds.
Work on impulse control. You can research online or work with a therapist.
Make it harder to spend money. You can try things like leave your card at home and carry a small amount of cash for your needs. Remove your card from any web sites or apps so you have to type in all the details to make a purchase.
Review your purchases at the end of the day or week. Think about did you really need it? Why did you buy it? How did it make you feel?
When I was a broke college kid I developed this mindset that I’m broke and a hard worker. So I’ll do work to avoid spending money on things. I still do it to this day, even though I am less broke now. In my opinion that’s a good habit and mindset and I’d encourage you to practice it.
It’s not finance related but it’s the same kind of mindset as parking further in the parking lot at the spaces that are usually open instead of doing circles hunting for a close spot. Get a splash of exercise (good for you) avoid dealing with/stalking other cars/people. Win-win. If you biked to the store to get your food you’re getting exercise, saving the delivery fee, and likely paying less for the food too. Win-win-win. A lot of these modern technology/convenience fees are junk and avoidable if you get acclimated to the old fashioned way people used to do all these things.
At the end of the day it all boils down to finding the motivation to leave the house and do things rather than paying a premium to have others do it for you (thinking specifically about your doordash introspection)
You already know your problem, and the solution. The internet can’t solve it for you, only you can.
just stay home and find a cheap hobby
Spending issue, making you cry you need uh tissue? You in college find a beauty to kiss you, then leave ‘em make ‘em miss you
