Five Businesses Fail Alcohol Compliance Checks in Jefferson City

Five businesses in the Jefferson City area failed to properly identify the purchaser during alcohol compliance checks on Thursday night, as reported by the Jefferson City Police Department.

Members of the JCPD, the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, and the Jefferson City Council for Drug Free Youth conducted alcohol compliance checks at 14 businesses throughout the city. Unfortunately, five of these businesses failed to properly identify the purchaser. The businesses that failed the compliance checks were Smokehouse Smokeshop, Break Time on Militia Drive, Phillips 66 on W. Truman Blvd., another Break Time on W. Truman Blvd., and Macadoodles on Missouri Blvd.

As a consequence, the offending clerks were issued citations to appear in municipal court. The Division of Alcohol and Tobacco will also take further action against the businesses based on the number of previous violations, according to the JCPD’s release.
