Report: One-Third of Women in Tech Companies Considering Quitting in the Next Year

According to a recent report by Skillsoft, nearly a third (31 per cent) of women employees in technology companies worldwide are contemplating leaving their jobs within the next 12 months. The main reasons cited for this decision are the lack of adequate training and a desire for better compensation. With the alarming statistic that as many as 40 per cent of women employees are considering leaving due to issues with department or company management, it is evident that workplace culture plays a significant role in employee retention. Additionally, 39 per cent mentioned a lack of training and growth opportunities as key factors driving their decision to potentially quit, while only 26 per cent identified compensation as an influencing factor.

With 41 per cent of women expressing an interest in receiving training in AI, it is imperative to involve and empower women in this field to promote equity and inclusivity in technology development. By advancing women’s skills in AI, organizations can unlock innovative and diverse solutions to business challenges.

Besides AI, women in tech are also keen on developing leadership and project management skills, as highlighted by the survey results. Key areas of dissatisfaction include managerial support, current pay, and diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
