Finding a Solution: How AI Legalese Decoder Can Help with Debt Collection Issues
Introduction
In my current financial situation, I have hit rock bottom and am determined to do whatever it takes to not only fix everything but also reach a state of financial comfort. As part of this process, I recently decided to check my credit score, which I hadn’t done in quite some time. What I discovered during this process has left me puzzled and concerned.
The Surprise Collection Account
When I checked my credit score for the first time in over two years, my goal was to gain an understanding of my score, why it stood where it did, and how I could potentially improve it. In the process, I noticed an entry at the bottom of my full credit report regarding a collections account. To my surprise, it revealed an outstanding debt of nearly $600 owed to T-Mobile Germany from 2018. The account had apparently been sent to collections on May 23, 31. However, this charge was unfamiliar to me, both in terms of the amount and the nature of the debt.
Confusion and Research
Determined to uncover the truth, I delved deeper into this matter. The dates associated with the debt collection and the account start date confused me, particularly the latter as it did not align with when I opened or closed my T-Mobile account. In an effort to ensure that I hadn’t missed any correspondence regarding this debt or its transition to collections, I meticulously searched through my email account from the time I resided in Germany. Unfortunately, I did not find any emails from the collections agency, and the only email I found from T-Mobile was an unrelated one containing a temporary code dating back nearly two years prior to the indicated “account start date.”
The Dispute Process and Frustration
In an attempt to address this issue, I disputed the collections account through Credit Karma. However, my dispute was neither approved nor removed, leaving me disheartened and questioning the reason provided: “Disputed information was verified as accurate.” The lack of further explanation or clarifying details has further compounded my confusion and frustration.
Seeking Advice and Next Steps
Now faced with the dilemma of what steps to take next, I possess two numbers for the collections agency, namely Yes Online Inc. However, I am hesitant to contact them without absolute certainty that I was never previously notified of this debt or that any attempt to contact me was made. Additionally, I am in need of guidance to navigate this complex situation.

Write to the collection agency and ask for proof of the debt, called a debt validation letter. I had an unusual charge showing at collections once and when I did this (and stated if they canÔÇÖt prove it to have it removed), it was removed from my credit report. Google debt validation and youÔÇÖll find templates.
Following because IÔÇÖm in a similar situation
When you closed your account, did you make sure it was fully paid before you left?
I had a similar issue when I left Ramstein in 2013. I closed my account before I left however I was told I might have to pay something later and I’ll get a bill if I do.
I ended up receiving a letter in German about 8+ months after I left stating I had debt from T-Mobile but was bought by a collection agency. Then another 6+ months or so later. It wasn’t much (Ôé¼80 or so) but as everything was German it was hard to pay it off due to the language barrier and inability to pay it online. I sent two checks (one was returned-wrong address) and eventually got it cleared up.
I didn’t look into my CreditKarma or anything as I assumed it wouldn’t affect my credit score with it being German debt (no idea if it would at the time, still didn’t know until I read your post) and just wanted to pay it off in the event I ever returned to Germany.
Good luck.

I’m experiencing the same right now. I PCS’d from Germany in 2018 and a month ago received a letter from Dynamic Legal Recover stating I owe $200 dollars. I closed my account 60 days prior with my official orders and now 5 years later I’m receiving this and reflects on my credit karma. Did you get yours resolved? if so please advise…
