## Waiting for a Life-Changing Decision

Well, one of the biggest and most life changing decisions should be coming in soon. My claim for Total Disability Individual Unemployability (TDIU) (although it was mixed with an earlier claim) has made its way to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Decision Review Officer (DRO). I am very very anxious about this as I never received any Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams for TDIU. I called several times and the VA representative always said that no exams were requested. In the past, no C&P exams meant instant denial of my claims. I have submitted EVERYTHING I could with this TDIU claim – my original application, employer documents, a letter from a previous employer, personal statements, and Social Security earning records. Everything SHOULD line up for approval. I am currently rated at 80% and meet the criteria for TDIU. I have been unemployed and living in my van for nearly 2 years, and the 5 years before that was only marginally employed. I’ll update this post when I get a final decision. Wish me luck!

Good luck. I am also in pfd (since 3/8) for tdiu. This is my initial claim, but have been on ssdi since 2007. Hoping it will be enough because I did not have a tdiu exam either.

My tdiu claim is on step 3, says theres 2 file requests, but I’ve seen people say those are just internal vba communications, and i dont need to worry about those. Also, I have not had them send me anything about any c&p exams as of yet. currently rated 80%, I haven’t been able to work since September. And ssdi just hit step 4 (initial) claim. The only reason I’ve been able to survive this long is with the help of my gf. I feel pretty helpless rn and I hate it. Hopefully, you get good news soon. But rn everyday feels like groundhog day for me.
