I think he would need to be able to show that either of these was the case. Did you artificially inflate the estimated cost of $100? It seems a very reasonable amount but only you yourself would know. It would certainly be wise to have relevant receipts etc on hand to demonstrate how much you are spending if he challenged the veracity of your claimed spending. Otherwise, he is voluntarily paying $50 per week.
It’s not illegal. You can make a private agreement to pay whatever you want.
Just don’t engage at all. He either pays that or not. You have no way to enforce it and there’s no reason to discuss it.
You don’t need to provide receipts to him either. If you’re getting into harassing conversations like that then go to “I’m not discussing that with you” and then never answer on it again.

Private agreements are 100% legal. I have a private agreement for mine too. Him willingly giving you money for his child will never be illegal.
It’s only illegal if you have advised Centrelink that he is only paying $5. I paid extra child support to my ex because my daughter needed it.
IÔÇÖm pretty sure that if the arrangements are private they canÔÇÖt do anything. If itÔÇÖs going through child support and they overpaid you then they could make an application to make you pay it back.
Keep records of everything, and dont engage any more than is absolutely necessary. Your ex is clearly full of shit, but it sounds like they might be about to start trying to manipulate you/the situation somehow.
Fact is, he decided to pay $50 a week. No one forced him. Nothing about that could possibly ever be considered illegal.
At absolute *best*, he misrepresented the situation to someone who is more likely to be on their side, for example by hypothetically claiming to them that you are witholding visitation if he doesnt pay more, and that person went “tHaTs iLleEeEgUl”, and he just ran with it.
The other parent can apply to child support and supply evidence of the amounts they have paid. There may be a ruling of no cs to be paid for a set time until the over payments are accounted for.
That may be for a first account set up though. Not sure if it will work if the $5 was already ordered by cs and you both decided to ignore it.
