    There appears to be a couple of issues here

    You need to check your absence policy. A certain amount of absence may be required to trigger an absence management procedure. This is also likely to set out when a written warning is warranted and what any next steps will be. Often employees will be required to meet a certain percentage of attendance over the next 6/12 months – at which point the warning will lapse.

    The policy should also set out any appeal information. You should review this so you know what to expect from the process.

    If youÔÇÖre not part of a union, ask a colleague to accompany you. This is standard for your right to be accompanied.

    In terms of your return to work, please can you explain what wrong information you were given? Presumably this led to you having longer absence and SSP kicked in? If youÔÇÖve not actually worked the days youÔÇÖve been paid SSP I think your argument that you should be paid these days will fall flat.

    Seems like they are building evidence to dismiss you eventually.

    Have you got doctors sick notes for the periods you were off? What was the outcome of the absence review meeting. Final written warning?

    With wrong information are you contractually entitled to company sick pay (full pay) rather than SSP? If so I would write to HR and explain your entitlement and the shortfall in salary and ask for this to be paid. Time limits to bring a claim for the shortfall is 3 months less 1 day from the date payment was due so contact ACAS asap.

    Follow up with a formal grievance in respect of the absence review meeting and SSP. Ask for it to be reviewed independently. Maybe there are other issues going on as well and you should consider raising these too.
