What is the free and best tool that gives you a consolidated financial dashboard like what Mint used to have? I hate Creditkarma as it lacks a lot of functionalities that mint used to provide.

    Hi Folks!

I’ve never really invested, and I’m in my mid-40s. I have two teenage kids with jobs, and I want to help them build for financial independence.

I recently started listening to “The Money Guy Show” on YouTube, and downloaded the Financial Order of Operations.

I want to help my kids learn, but I feel like I don’t have the knowledge necessary to give them good advice. I know Roth IRA is good, I recently heard about Health Savings Accounts.

If you were in my shoes, how would you start the conversation with your kids?

    Thank you for the help!

    Sincerely,

    Some dad on the internet.

1st- any broad advice on state pension plans vs other retirement account options? Specifically MD state. IÔÇÖm enrolled in the MD pension program (for 1.5 yrs now) but honestly IÔÇÖm not sure if that was the correct decision and felt I rushed it.

2nd- Taking steps towards properly investing. Last year I moved a large portion of my savings out of my crappy savings account to a HYS account. Currently $30k in that. Looking to move some of that to an investment portfolio aimed at retirement and house buying. Is there a general starting % of that savings that I should move?
