Check your Dads credit report using the social security number. If your uncle used it to get a house, there’s more than that going on.
The following isn’t a moral case, just a most-likely factual one. 1) I’m guessing your uncle needed papers to stay in the US. 2) After your dad passed, your uncle felt ‘in the clear’, and basically went about living a ‘legal’ life in the US, including using the SSN to get credit, mortgage, etc. He likely viewed it as ‘no harm, no foul’. 3) Your mother may or may not have been deprived of widows benefits and you may or not have been deprived of survivors benefits. 4) There is no way for us to know whether your uncle was aware of #3. 5) Your actions will certainly trigger an investigation, and if caught your uncle will be deported. 6) I hope you understand what you just did to your uncle (as well as what you hope to gain from your action).

It’s fu*ked that he got cars and a house using my dad’s info while me and my mom were riding the bus during summer 100 Fahrenheit and winter colds it’s fuc*ked that I can barely pay for my rent because of how inflation is right now and he’s over there renting a house and getting money on exchange. What a piece of crap he is. That’s betrayal and I don’t tolerate that.
Now that the bank knows that your father is deceased, hire an estate attorney and inherit his house + other assets. What is your uncle gonna do? Sue you?
Has he been getting Social Security benefits? It will be worse if he has done that. Could be fines, prison, or both depending on the crimes. I guess you don’t like your Uncle too much?

I apologize in advance because I know this will sounds stupid, but, if you uncle did nothing wrong and used it to get a better job, a house, and improves his family’s situation, don’t you think ruining his life with jail and imprisonment will make things alright? Because of the implication!
Everybody saying this isn’t a crime or hurting anyone is wrong, 100% identity theft, financial fraud. The hurt is to the system itself and all the others playing by the rules. Allowing a crime to be committed and continuing is itself a disservice to those using the system correctly. The widow is also hurt by being unable to make claim due to the uncles actions.
OIG, Office of the Inspector General. Contact them yourself, the police/fbi/ssa literally won’t care but it’s the Inspector General literal job to hear out these types of concerns and investigate properly, they will levy any charges against your uncle.
The SSA isn’t going to care really. As long as your uncle isn’t claiming benefits. He is probably paying FICA taxes from his work which is free money for them.
Believe or not, no one is going to really care because it sounds like your uncle hasn’t harmed anyone financially. He is working, paying his mortgage, paying the taxes, paying his bills. Right?
He did commit the crime of identify theft. Usually the victim has to file a complaint to get criminal charges filed. The victim is dead. So therefore no criminal charges. Unless the police want to take the initiative based on your report.
That is a very interesting situation. I would not be shocked if nothing comes of it.
Now if your uncle is stupid enough to try to claim social security benefits when he is ready to retire, or register to vote, or get a passport, or get a DUI, then all sorts of bad stuff may land on him. He is never going to actually be able to live a normal life.

Obviously, what is being done is illegal, but you are going to cause a lot of harm to your Aunt and Uncle.
