## Frustration with SSA Offices Clerks

Is it just me or do all of the SSA Offices Clerks give the same answer when asking about the status of your Application. “It shows it’s still pending “, is all I’m told. But some people on here that’s experienced the same thing says their representative gave them a lot of detail about their status. How can I get lucky like that, also my case is at the DDS Stage 90% complete status since February this year. My DDS Analyst really doesn’t answer his phone and if and when he calls is very rare because I’ve had to go through his Supervisor, which I don’t like doing.

This disability analyst is not required to give you a detailed answer to your questions. They frankly, really don’t have the time. You don’t have the right to know the details about what is happening and when and why. If they were required to do that, cases would slow down. It would take longer for a decision.

When your child sits in the back seat of a car asking are we there yet, it doesn’t make the trip shorter if you answer or if you don’t.

Once a decision is made, you can ask for a CD copy of the claims folder and might be able to figure out what happened when. A lot of time a case is waiting for the analyst to have time to work it during the workday since they often have hundreds of cases to work on and only have 8 hours in a day. So when a case is pending, it could mean sitting in an electronic pile waiting for attention. That is almost always the correct answer to why a case is pending. No time to work on it yet.

SSA sees if the claim is done or not.
DDS could give you a better estimate.

Timeframe is what it is. You have people like me who applied April 2021 and took 13 months for 1st denial and then 12 months for appeal denial and then another 6 months to have ALJ hearing. And mine is supposed to be “expedited” as disabled vet. It just takes time. Alot of people are waiting.

I’ll call my Analyst and leave a message tomorrow requesting an update on my application status. Thank you, believe any words of wisdom are needed. As a footnote, I applied June 2023 this is the initial application.
