    Success story.. been out for 8 years and just filed in Feb for ongoing neck issues. I was in a car accident while active and for some reason never filed despite a year of ongoing treatment and tons of documentation on the civilian side. I went to my c and p exam expecting nothing to come of it, maybe 10 percent if that. Checked my portal the other day and was rated at 50 percent and received a check 3 days later. Wow. Feels life changing. Really thankful.

    Opened the case Feb 10, case closed on April 24. Added dependents today and case opened and closed same day so will have updated pay from now on. The VA is getting very efficient in my experience.

    I literally just downloaded the VA tracker yesterday was in evidence gathering for 3 months, and this morning, I checked, and I went to PFD. Not sure how long I will be here, but I’m excited to see movement. I have an appointment tomorrow with VERA. Increase claim, currently at 60%

    Now for a new round of anxiety to kick in. Was talking with a co-worker about paid services since I haven’t had an update since 2024-03-03 and feel like I’ve reached the my VA knowledge limitations. Woke up 2024-04-27 and checked my app for the 1st our of 500 times for the day, and noticed that it was in maintenance mode. I’ve come to realize that that means an update of some sorts. Not always, but about 50/50 of the time. Saw there was an update as of 2024-04-26 and got excited!. Ran to the desktop and checked out the VACT and saw the updates. All of the C&P results were submitted and now its just stand-by, hurry up and wait!

    * Misc details: I initially filed in 2010 when I separated, but withdrew my claim because I was young and thought it would interfere with my education benefits. Back then it took them a whole year to close my claim which included my knee issue that began in service. 6 months later, I ended up tearing my ACL & meniscus in the same knee that I hurt in service. They never gave me an MRI and didn’t really care to see what the issue was while I was in. When I became a dependa they rolled out the red carpet so my knee surgery and rehab were covered. It kills me that I never stopped to think about reapplying for disability until recently. My body has decided it now hates me so here I am! Anyway, I woke up to a temp jurisdiction this morning. Hopefully i’ll be hearing back soon.

Now I just keep checking the tracker… This has been much faster than I expected, but I could stay PDA for a while I guess.

    * Submitted/received date: Submitted Jan 13, Feb 14, Jan 19 respectively
    * Misc details: No movement on either supplemental yet. I had a c&p exam for my new claim (2 conditions) but the c&p exam was only for 1 of the conditions and they messed up and categorized it as an increase instead of new condition. New exam was requested for May 17th. Never waited 4 months for a c&p before so that’s fun. I’m convinced it’s because I’m close to 100%, and they’re f’ing with me.

  • Ok-Pace-4321

    Just got 40 for Fibromyalgia and 60 for CFS which bumped me up to 90% not happy about the CFS my DBQ was high marked by my Rheumatologist so I’ll most likely do an HLR. Also, they had my effective date as 16 August 2023 when my claim was filed but my intent to file was April 12 2023. Another thing my Fibro and CFS both are Gulf war presumptive with both diagnosed in 2015 why didn’t they go back to 22 August 2022 when the PACT ACT was signed? Im waiting to get my letters to see what the write up looks like.

    **Has anybody ever had success with asking your Congressman for a congressional inquiry into your claim?? I have twice. The first time it went on deaf ears..crickets! My VA advocate swears by it so I did again today..lets see! Congresswoman DE LA CRUZ 15th dist. South TX. Its an election year so maybe will make a difference…? They have specific areas in Gov’t intervention. SS and the VA are the two I have current claims with………..I did see a few VA law firms that advertised the help is not what most think so………**

That was 3/11 and I was able to get them uploaded the next day. Misc details: Used REE Medical to file an increase. Took roughly 5 months to get everything done with REE Medical, but a month of that was waiting on an appointment with the doctor since I insisted on an in person visit. Got my DBQ maybe a week and a half after the doctor visit. 70% -> 100% P&T. The claim for increase was obviously insanely fast. Couldn’t believe it when I saw it had completed already.

    I know everyone says to stop at this point but I feel that I need to continue so that every issue is in writing and confirmed. PACT Act has an expiration date so I’ll be working on those soon.

     Good luck out there battles.
