# Inheritance Inquiry: Waiting for Payout from Solicitor

## Background
Hi,

I hope you are doing well. I wanted to inquire about the timeline for receiving my inheritance from my grandparents. Unfortunately, they have recently passed away, and I have been named as a beneficiary to receive 5% of their estate.

## Estate Progress Update
I wanted to inform you that the house owned by my grandparents has been sold, and the final contracts were exchanged approximately a week and a half ago. This marks a significant milestone in the process of settling their estate.

## Payout Timeline
I am curious about the estimated timeframe for when I can expect to receive the payout from the solicitor. As I anticipate this inheritance will provide some financial relief during this difficult time, any information you can provide regarding the timeline would be greatly appreciated.

There may be other assets / liabilities in the estate and the Solicitor may be waiting for all that to be resolved before making distributions.

If they are the only executor, then they could take their sweet time.

If you are talking about the conveyancing solicitor for the sale, then they should remit funds to the estate bank account on completion (unless instructed otherwise). In which case speak to the executor directly and get an update.
