Visit the department of Land website (registrar general) & lodge a lost CT.

In most states these are now digitised titles. You’ll need to pay a fee and possibly follow other directions eg statutory declaration.

Edit: if you have a mortgage, the bank will hold the title.

    Do a title search $20-50

Lenders will do a title search for the property they’re lending against.

Property titles are held by lenders and all moving to a digital platform.

My suggestion is to speak to the bank where you had the mortgage. We’ve paid off the mortgage years ago and never bothered to get the deeds back due to a) there is a cost, and b) we will lose the deeds – safer in the bank’s hands.
