unless you won’t have insurance for a year you don’t really have to worry about much. If you are on SSDI I would think you have Medicare which follows you immediately, perhaps with a Medicaid Supplement. But even if you are on straight Medicaid for some reason the transition is very quick. A matter of weeks. So there is really no excuse for not seeing Doctors for any real length of time.

When you get your three year letter, if they have concerns, they might ask you to see a doctor. My letters have always said never mind, you still messed up!

My lawyer told me should go every 3 months.

SSA is not constantly monitoring when you go to the doctor. They will only look at your medical records when a full medical CDR is done. At the time of the CDR, they will only be asking for your medical records from the year before. If you haven’t had any or much treatment the year prior to your CDR, you will be sent to independent consultative examinations by the DDS to complete the medical determination.
