It doesn’t in any way affect your real returns. Whether you hold the fund in USD or EUR, your returns will be the same when you convert them into your currency.

Just to tag on to the other response already given: If you really want to invest more into a certain currency you have to look into ETFs that buy their assets in the given country with the present currency. When you invest into any ETF covering the American market, your assets will always be in USD. Then when you sell, it gets converted back into your home currency. So if you want to invest in EUR you need to invest in Europe-centric ETFs. On the other hand, if you are afraid of currency exposure you can look into currency hedged ETFs. However, those ETFs don’t just protect you from the downside of currency risk but also from the upside. If the currency valuation would move in your currencies favor you would not gain anything from it. Still, with a diversified all-world portfolio you really don’t have to concern yourself with all this. Just hold and invest for long enough.

The trade currency doesn’t matter at all. What’s more important is the currency of the underlying securities, especially in case of fixed income securities.

I assume that i know where you are from.

If possible switch to EUR based trading due to currency exchange fluctuating. EUR and USD are not bound to each other like your home currency most likely is to the EUR.

This risk can be a benefit if the USD st the time of sales is much stronger than EUR, but if the other way around, then it is your loss if you need the money.
