Pantex and Y-12 Recognized with Defense Programs Awards

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) celebrated the achievements of eight teams from the Pantex Plant and the Y-12 National Security Complex with Defense Programs Awards of Excellence. These teams were instrumental in enhancing national security by meeting or surpassing the mission criteria set for the sites, as stated in a news release. More than 200 Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS) employees were commended for their contributions to these team endeavors.

The Defense Programs Awards of Excellence, introduced in 1982, aim to acknowledge significant individual and team achievements in support of the NNSA nuclear weapons program. Each year, an executive review panel convenes to select the winners.

Pantex Site Manager Colby Yeary welcomed the honorees at the Defense Programs Awards of Excellence ceremony held at Pantex.

At the awards ceremony in Amarillo, Pantex Site Manager Colby Yeary emphasized, “Excellence is not an expectation but a requirement due to the mission we are tasked with fulfilling at Pantex. The recipients of these Defense Programs Awards serve as a prime example of meeting that requirement.”
