# Situation: Seeking Increase in Disability Rating
## Initial Situation
This was for an increase in my disability rating. Initially rated at 10%, I experienced a gnarly flare up which prompted me to seek medical attention at the VA hospital. After getting an MRI, I had to wait months for a Compensation and Pension (C&P) examination to be scheduled.
## C&P Examination
When I finally went to the appointment, it was conducted by QTC and surprisingly, it went better than I could have ever imagined. The VA was able to finish rating my claim just two days later. The results showed a 40% rating for lumbosacral strain, 20% for right leg radiculopathy, and 10% for left leg radiculopathy. Interestingly, I didn’t even file for radiculopathy, but all of my evidence pointed towards it. I made sure to mention this to the examiner and he conducted several tests to confirm the diagnosis.
## Successful Outcome
The overall outcome was a great success 👍 Additionally, the VA finally referred me to community care for pain management, where I received a steroid epidural treatment that proved to be pretty effective in managing my pain.

I did the same thing. My VSO told me not to appeal the original decision for my back. Suggested waiting one year for an increase on 20% back. After C&P exam I was awarded 40% for back and 20% for each leg and 0% for scar. My back is not good and having money for massages has really helped.
Got an exam next week for the same thing. Congratulations. PT and Pain Management scheduled. Shit sucks, but some fun bucks for the pain helps dry the tears.

Oh yeah. The C&P guy could see none of my evidence. I printed it all out and meant to bring it and forgot it at home. Luckily I was able to show him on my phone. Print it out folks!
