Decrease expenses and/or increase income. Without any specifics, there is not much to go on for tailored advice.

$3500 monthly income and ~$2400 monthly expenses wheres the rest of the money going?

Stop using the credit card at all costs. Start making payments as much above the minimum as you can.

Call Discover and and see if theyÔÇÖll work with you while you get back on your feet. Do the same with any medical bills.

Looks like you may have an eating out issue. How you got 2-300 in grocers and 4-450 eating out? Drop that entire 450 and put another 100 on groceries and eat at home more. Pack lunches for work. There’s an extra 3-350 right out the gate

  • Low-Carpenter-156

Try to cook more and cut the eating out to maybe one day per week. ItÔÇÖs better for you and you can put the savings toward that credit card bill. This can be done without getting another job but if you do, please make sure your mental health can sustain the additional hours working. Good luck to you OP.

As other people have said, more income and less expenses. From your listed expenses, try to cut eating out. Meal plan/prep to avoid ÔÇ£having to ÔÇ£. Get in the habit of packing snacks and bringing a drink with you to not buy convenience stuff. Shop around for car insurance, that might help you a bit. Look for flexible work so you can work when youÔÇÖre free. Not the easiest thing to find but could help. Good luck.

Stop eating out. Spending 15% of your income eating out, when you are deep in debt, is part of your problem. Paying that amount on the card would make a big difference.
First rule of being in a hole: stop digging.

You can try calling discover or any other debts you have and explain to them your situation. They’re more likely to work with you as long as they know you want to pay. They might be willing to lower your interest rates get rid of any late payment fees if you have any excetera. Getting a second job is also a good idea. Writing down all of your expenses and income so that you have it down in paper. Especially make sure that you are only spending money on things that are absolutely necessary. Look for deals and coupons for food and toiletries laundry Etc

    >find a part time job to help increase my income more

    That’s a smart move.

You should also work on cutting your spending. Create a budget that covers all your spending. Post it here, and we’ll suggest things to cut.

  • pittbiomed

Stop eating out for 6 months , that would save you 2400.00 to use to pay off your credit card

  • Fluffy_Yesterday_468

Something is not quite adding up. From the expenses you’ve listed here you should have $1000+ / month to pay CC bills

  • codece

It should go without saying that you need to stop using the card. Cut it up, you’re done with it, you can’t use it anymore until you can manage the debt you already have.

You have to learn to not spend money you don’t have. Never use a credit card because you don’t have cash, that’s always how this starts.

If you cannot afford something right now a credit card is not a solution. It’s a debt trap. Using credit because you cannot afford to buy with cash is like being stranded in a lifeboat and deciding to drink sea water. It might seem to help temporarily, but you are just hastening your demise.

Look at the $400-500 you’re spending on eating outside of the house as a place to cut.

  • For_Never_Dreams

This suggestion does take some financial discipline, but you could apply for another credit card that is offering 0% APR for 18-24 months on balance transfers. Then transfer the balance of the discover card to the other card. Generally they charge a one time 3-5% fee, but vs any monthly interest charge on an 11,000 balance it is much more cost effective. Once the transfer completes you budget to aggressively pay down the balance on the 0% APR card saving you hundreds in interest costs.

I say this takes financial discipline because I’ve seen people start using the card they moved the balance off of and then they end up underwater even more with two cards.

Can you get a roommate temporarily?

This is anecdotal, but I worked at Target for a few years and met Shipt shoppers. One girl really hustled and told me that she paid off $60k in debt from Shipt.

Maybe a gig job can help? Bankruptcy is a last resort.
