The Importance of Research and Asking Questions
If youÔÇÖve had the chance to look through my previous comments, youÔÇÖll quickly gather that researching is my forte. I am passionate about diving into cases, reaching out to authorities, and relentlessly seeking answers.
In the course of my relentless investigation, one recurring theme that keeps surfacing is the absurdity surrounding charges of violating registry requirements and probation. The stories I’ve come across are quite bewildering, to say the least.
Just a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon an alarming incident in a county where a roundup operation was conducted. Numerous registered sex offenders (RSOs), many of whom were elderly men in their 60s, 70s, or even 80s, were arrested for the offense of not registering their spouses’ vehicles. It’s important to highlight that some of these individuals had only one offense on their records and hadn’t committed any crimes for a staggering 20, 30, or even 40 years.
I have also encountered cases where individuals were hired for a job, decided against accepting the position (despite completing all the necessary paperwork), and were slapped with not one, but two registry violations. One for failing to report that they had started working and another for not reporting that they had quit.
The staggering number of definitions and interpretations for the term “loitering” is yet another mind-boggling aspect of this issue.
Taking Action: How AI Legalese Decoder Can Help
Given the circumstances, I implore you to take proactive measures to protect yourself. An effective strategy would be to communicate with the relevant authorities via email, reaching out to the Sheriff’s office, state police, local district attorney, state representatives, and anyone else you believe should have the answers. Pose every question that comes to mind.
Importantly, seek to obtain written responses. By having everything in writing, you can ensure that you are crystal clear on what you can and cannot do. This approach will help cover your backside and minimize the risk of being charged with a violation over something utterly ludicrous.
In addition to these proactive steps, I would like to introduce you to a valuable tool that could assist in navigating the vague and convoluted legal landscape surrounding these issues. The AI Legalese Decoder is a cutting-edge technology that utilizes artificial intelligence algorithms to decipher complex legal jargon and decode the vaguest possible language. I recently starting sending emails to different police departments in Wisconsin and emailing as follows:
Dear whom ever it may concern.
My name is (insert name) I am a registered sex offender in(state) and currently reside in (town). I am no longer on supervision as of (month and date). I was wondering where I can find sex offender ordinances for (name city)? The only ordinances I have come across online are regarding where I can live while on supervision.
Does the city have any child safety zones? If so where can I obtain a map?
I’m only looking for input in regards to attending some restaurants, attractions, and residing in some hotels/resorts with (I usually put family). I know I made some choices in my past that restrict the things I can do. I want to take the steps to make sure that I am following all the ordinances in the city.
Thanks

I have gotten quit a few responses already. I’m working on a spreadsheet to ordinances links, contact info in some cities in Wisconsin. These are all places I want to go with my family soon or in the near future
Once I get a response I always thank them for the response and taking time out of there day. I also let them know I will continue checking if any changes to the ordinances have been made if there are no ordinances.
Emailing I know I have a copy I can pull up on when and who I talked too. They leave there name and badge number in the email. I only send emails to emails that I know belongs to the police department or someone in the city the emails are usually a @.gov or @.org email.
Today I was able to attend a parade my daughter was in. I emailed an officer last week. I got the email from an article I read about in the local university from 2021. The article was about my city having the most RSO in Wisconsin. I have the link somewhere. They are an officer in the article is Crime and Public Affairs officer. I asked just like I stated above. I also put links to there own police offender requirements page and the city ordinances. I got email within an hour stating no ordinances. I asked about parks, parades, swimming pools, and any child safety zone? The response was there are no ordinances in the city. I thanked them for taking time to respond to me.
I also use the safety plans I have made over the last 3 years while on supervision. That’s what safety plans are for, so you can obey the laws of a RSO and don’t get in trouble.
I think I covered some of the things from your post and some.
The only thing SOs and their families can do is band together, act as one and march on Washington to demand change. There’s what? A million of us? If you add families that’s a whole lot of people not working, being heard, making a statement and getting change done. This country used to be about unity. So much so our forefathers sought to name it the UNITED States of America. I wonder if it will ever be again.
One person might win a court case and change one miniscule rule, but millions would change a whole lot more!
That is a good suggestion. The guidelines can be vague and sometime registering is expensive. In Louisiana you have to pay for sending out fliers which can easily cost $1000 or more every time you move. Tricky when you’re just released and can’t find work. Even my therapist I see as a part of probation disagreed with it. I don’t live in Louisiana anymore thankfully. So I agree fully with how you laid this out. We should also talk about financial resilience because some states like Louisiana have restrictions that are a strain on the persons wallet.
It’s worthwhile to educate ourselves but I would not recommend being a nuisance in the pursuit of knowledge. You are extrapolating from a few select terrible places and advising people to act as if that’s the standard operating procedure everywhere when it’s not.
It’s important to keep things in perspective and look at the statistics. What percentage of registrants get arrested for non-compliance with the registry? What percentage of those go on to be convicted?
