## Current Situation with Child Support Modification in CO

I have been residing in Colorado for the past few years, and it has been three years since the last modification of child support for my 16-year-old son. Despite being on SSDI and having a 50/50 custody arrangement, I am unable to work due to my disability. To supplement my income, I occasionally engage in dog sitting activities for additional funds. While I have been transparent with my ex-partner about my financial situation, I have not disclosed the income generated from dog sitting, as it is paid in cash.

## Challenges Faced with Ex-Partner and Financial Disclosure

Unfortunately, my ex-partner has been uncooperative and refuses to share his financial information with me. He insists on knowing the details of my dog sitting income, despite it not being a formal business venture. Despite my attempts to communicate with him and seek legal counsel, he remains non-responsive to my requests.

If you are supposed to disclose all financial info, you don’t get to pick and choose what info you give him.

Or alternatively, you can’t get mad at him for not turning over information when you’re literally doing the same thing.

Why aren’t you giving it to him? You want all of his income to count but to be able to hide yours?

My ex had to turn over his under the table income. And you’re threatening him over not giving you information, so that can be held against you. Way to make yourself look bad and mess up your case all at once. Child support isn’t going to turn you in to the IRS, but now maybe your ex will report you to them and social security for hiding income. You don’t have the upper hand you think you have here.

  • Thursdaysisthemore

Why not give him an average for the year? It can’t possibly have that much of an impact unless you’re running a full time dog sitting empire. Obvs ex is being a controlling jerk but if you give him that he will move forward right?

I’d like to clarify my post. My pet sitting is not a business. I don’t advertise other than Next Door posts. I don’t even keep track of what I make. He barely pays above the minimum because I get SS benefits for my son because of my disability. Honestly, it might be a loss for me. I really do it for my love of animals. However, you do make some good points and I will try to come up with a guesstimate.
