Just up the I-10 from Smallcakes, MillieÔÇÖs has also been bustling with customers. “It just goes all day long, and then itÔÇÖs seven oÔÇÖclock,” said Whiteside.

For small seasonal businesses like MillieÔÇÖs, holidays like Valentine’s Day help them stay afloat during slower months. “I love shopping here, and I know a lot of other people do too,” said Whiteside.

Christian King of Smallcakes expressed how important it is to the community and to their business. “That means everything for a small business. Because again, being a part of the community, being accepted in the community, and being able to deliver for the community is huge for us,” said King.
