A few years as a consultant can work well for your career in my experience. Good to have in-house and consulting experience. If the pay looks good and you’ve got good vibes then go for it.

The work will likely be more intense than in industry (but not always) and you will likely pick up solid customer-related skills that will help you in the future

It is good to be working for a Big4 and to have such experience under your belt and on your CV. Think of it as a finishing school, a place to improve on your soft skills and you get to learn from a lot of different industries and improve on your technical skillset quickly.

Reading the comments, people are saying that you work longer hours (a bit true, but frankly, it depends on the project, so you should not have to sweat that much), and if it is the traditional consulting model, it is “up or out” so your time there is limited (it might not be if you are seen as a tech hire). I would expect the pay to be a bit shit, at least until you get promoted.

In the end, you feel that you are done, and it be easier to move back to industry, and if you networking right, you can land a better job via your network.

1000% go for it as your career will get a boost.

Big4 is a trap. You will lose your expertise and will become a master of excel, powerpoint, and selling BS instead.

Big4 is the worst place you can go

Pros: good on resume (to most other companies/possible clients), high salary

Cons: 16 hour workdays, from what I’ve heard, not much actual data analysis; mostly being a salesman in such a consultant role. Additional con: I can’t stand such consultants. Costs companies a fucking fortune and they rarely add any value to the process within a company.
