## Struggling to Find Employment

I have been facing challenges in securing employment for an extended period, with limited success. It seems that most potential employers either do not hire individuals with criminal records or are not felon-friendly. Despite submitting applications to approximately 300 job opportunities across various sectors, I have been unable to secure a job.

Ensuring that the work I undertake does not entail physically demanding labor is preferable, as I have struggled with such tasks in the past. Nevertheless, I possess experience in retail management and warehouse operations. The financial strain of being unemployed is mounting, and I fear that my prolonged job search may be affecting my employability. I am seeking a stable job that offers a consistent schedule, ideally in an office setting or a role with regular working days and hours.

I work for a health insurance company. I told them during the hiring process. This was over six years ago. I’m still with the company. I also know in my state that unions (labor, construction, etc.) are SO friendly so that may be an option for you as well.

Good luck to you. Many of us can relate to your struggle. I know I’ve been in your position. Stick with it.

I was in the same boat, ended up working on the loading dock at a turkey plant before I got in at a feed mill. There are options, sometimes you just gotta swallow your pride and do the grunt work for a while.

I’m not trying to be offensive, but sometimes doing things we don’t handle well can be good for us. Labor/construction jobs are good for the mind and body. Plus it opens up a whole industry of job opportunities that doesn’t care nearly as much about your past as other industries…

Just fucking don’t tell anyone your story on the job site. You may end up visiting Jimmy Hoffa’s grave.

Someone made a post a few days ago and said that he used to work at Restaurant Depot and that they employed a number of RSOs. They are a restaurant supply company with over 150 locations.

Have you tried something online working remote? Not sure of the hiring rate of so’s are for these types of jobs, maybe someone here has experience. Something like taking calls for Amazon or some data entry type stuff. Just search around online and see if there’s anything that interests you that’s remote, so you can do your job in PJ’s 😅 I love my job, I work from home but in a specialized field. I was there too, working a factory job with no ac, summers were hell. Just gotta search and apply, can’t hurt.

so this is what I did I got in trouble released waiting for my court date to find out how long I was going to go to jail and what my level was going to be. so before I was convicted I could put on the job sheet that I’ve never been accused of a crime and I passed a background check but you need to do this before your conviction. the other thing I needed housing just in case my level is going to be a two or three my house would have been advertised so to speak so I went to find where sex offenders live in every large city usually has a block of kind of rundown apartments some new federally subsidized so I got an apartment then I asked him if there’s a job and there’s always janitor jobs in these places and I took that job and I took that job for about a year before my case came up for review. it was such a blessing and then after my conviction and release they want to meet back. the apartments are about 1,300 a month I was paid $20 an hour. it’s not a fancy job and it’s dirty but it’s an honest job and I was proud to have it and I learned a lot from housing people that are not any different than us. good luck on your search![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
