Internet deals are for new customer’s only so you’ll eventually run out of decent ISPs.

With health insurance, I think it is pretty similar. I remember when I moved from a corporate to personal with the same provider the benefit period reset, so we could claim the annual amount again and questioned this, and was told that it is pretty clear when people are just taking advantage so sometimes they don’t give it. I don’t know how standard this is across the industry.

I’ve been churning ISPs every 6 months for about 3 years now. Once you have the NBN, it takes longer to type in your details than the actual switch.

Can’t speak for health insurance. I’d be careful – you might get stung by qualifying periods, which could prove to be very costly if you’re unlucky.

You can absolutely churn health insurance and I’ve been doing it for years and saved a bucket load.

In saying that, health insurance can get very complicated and you need to be really clear about why you want it. Do the kids need braces? That’s only covered under certain policies and have wait limits.

Some health insurances are underwritten by the same company, so you can’t churn between those within a certain time period (6-12 months).

Some insurances reset their limits on the calendar year and some on the financial year, so you can also take advantage of that.

Just switched ISPs last night. Went with Origin (no idea they did internet) and cos my electricity/gas is with them, I get $10 off a month, got 35k Woolies points and a year subscription to Paramount+.
Knocked about $20 off my Optus bill.
Churned my mobile a few months back onto a half price for ($10/mth) 6 months plan.
Brand loyalty isnÔÇÖt great for savings.

If you happen to be a CBA customer, especially a home loan customer, you can get deals with More NBN.

I’m paying $38pm for 50/20 and the discount lasts for 3 years.
