Bunnings is usually pretty good with returns/warranty, ozito being their brand should help, just say it was a gift & you donÔÇÖt know how to claim warranty, point out the manufacturer date

  • RTVA01

Without proof of purchase they are under no obligation to accept any returns.

Bank statements wonÔÇÖt be proof of purchase either but an actual date might helpful to use and give them if they can access their records that far back.

Going forward make sure you take a pic of all receipts and email them to yourself then keep the email in a folder so you always have a copy.

If you remember the year and if you use a tax agent then maybe they might have made a copy of the receipts for their files?

You can definitely try to take it back to Bunnings without prof of purchase and see if theyÔÇÖll accept it but probably not likely unfortunately.

If you can identify the purchase date and transaction, you can request the receipt from bunnings – have done this before.

  • ellhard

Go in, be polite. Tell them you want a replacement under their 5 year warranty period. When they ask for reciept or proof of purchase just say to be honest I don’t have it as I didn’t think I needed it when I purchased all these tools but last time it happened they just took my ID and replaced it.

Start keeping records of receipts. Or at least write/engrave the date of purchase directly on the tool. I find this the best and easiest practice.

  • moderatelymiddling

If you know the date of transaction, and the value of the total. Bunnings can look it up in their system.

They have done it for me before.

But you have to give them a starting point.

    Next time keep your receipt.

  • Bclassisthebest

Even better now with Bunnings – create an account using their app and scan it whenever you make a purchase. That way you have an electronic receipt available in the app.

They are usually reluctant to replace without a receipt as you could have found the item on the street / at the tip. If you know the date you bought the item on (look through your banking app and search for Bunnings) they are excellent at finding the receipt in their system.

assuming you can return to the store you bought from usually they can track the sale with your id and cc m ask nicely

  • Spudlynicholas

I’ve seen the local bunnings get a very second hand ozito tool, no receipt. The clerk asked ” were you using this professionally” the customer said no, they picked up another off the shelf and gave it to him.

So, ask. It won’t hurt. Personally for the price I’d just buy another one, but I reckon you’d find a bunnings guy having a good day and get lucky.

  • Bruceflix

They don’t have to but there is a chance they will. Bunnings for all their failures do have a very good returns policy.

And warning to all, don’t buy Ozito as it’s rubbish in my opinion.

  • aj_rus

Had this recently. Found a charge in my cc for what I think I paid for it. They went into past transactions on their system. Found the receipt.

There was some back and forth on having th original card for the refund.. I just said it was Apple pay and they gave zero shits and refunded.
