FYI: Many Va doctors and practitioners aren’t licensed in the state they work in. I used to work @ a VA hospital and the only requirement is that you be licensed in ANY state.
bill S. 2795 that was signed into law September 23rd 2023 extending the rights of VA “contracted” examiners to practice across state lines.
(This is just a portion of the bill for the whole bill Google it.)

Allows medical professionals contracted to perform veterans’ disability exams to continue practicing across state lines.
Date edit: On Friday, October 6, 2023, the President signed into law: S. 2795, which extends certain expiring authorities affecting veterans and beneficiaries.

As long as they are licensed (any state), they can perform C&P exams for the VA.
I had a Physicians Assistant do my C&P She checked all the right boxes. I don’t care.

This is why many VA medical employees got their licence from a less strict medical board and easy med schools like the Caribbean or some US territory islands.

If the examiner has been registered with the VA, then they’re fine. The examiner is there to review your current diagnosis/prescriptions/treatments from your Dr. and go over the DBQ to verify the diagnosis (and level of severity) from your Dr. If your going into the exam with no medical history and hoping for a diagnosis, the outcome probably will not be favorable (presumptives are a little different though)
C&P examiners are federal contractors contracted by a federal agency. Just like VA doctors who can be licensed in any state and work in a VAMC not in their licensed state, federal contractors can do the same.
You don’t have to treat to practice medicine. They are advising (the VA) on a condition which constitutes medical practice.

Personally, I might agree with you, but I’d wait on the outcome first. Good DBQ and rating? Then leave it alone. But if it’s not good, well, then you have all you need to fight it.
Maybe because the examiners are working for the feds.
Google their name and see if they lost their license
It’s more likely an ACE exam
A C&P exam is not “practicing medicine”.
