Heading: Dealing with Probate Process: Seeking Assistance from AI Legalese Decoder

Introduction:
Greetings,

I hope this message finds you well. I am currently facing a challenging situation as I recently experienced a loss in my family. Consequently, I have been appointed as the executor of the Will, and it is now my responsibility to navigate the probate process. Instead of hiring a solicitor and incurring expenses of around 1-2k, I have decided to save costs by undertaking the probate filing myself. I should mention that I have utilized the templates provided by the Queensland Courts website to assist me throughout this process ([https://www.courts.qld.gov.au/services/wills-and-probate/applying-for-a-grant/grant-of-probate](https://www.courts.qld.gov.au/services/wills-and-probate/applying-for-a-grant/grant-of-probate)).

Challenges and Concerns:
While I have attempted to follow the templates as closely as possible, I am aware that minor mistakes can sometimes be troublesome. I am curious to know how strict the courts are regarding errors, especially if I have diligently followed the provided templates. It is disconcerting to hear from a solicitor that even something as seemingly insignificant as the font or font size could potentially result in rejection. Consequently, I find myself seeking assistance and guidance from those who have experience in this matter.

I have recently encountered a significant personal loss, and as a result, I have taken on the role of executor for the Will. Despite my efforts to adhere to the provided templates, I am naturally concerned about potential complications arising from minor errors. Note that this is based on my experience with clients in Victoria, not Queensland. I am not a lawyer, I’m a financial advisor.

No. The courts are not finnicky over small mistakes. You might get it rejected a couple of times, but the court registrar should be able to explain it (though they will get a little crabby with you). They’re used to people having difficulty accessing the court system and you have lower expectations than a solicitor does. Basically: the court assumes you’re gonna fuck things up.

I have never heard of an application for probate rejected due to font/font size.

I have heard of solicitors mish-mashing previously written documents together – for example, taking an elegantly worded letter they wrote for one client, copy-pasting some other details in, submitting it behalf of a different one, forgetting to make sure the font and font size matched, and getting reamed by a judge for doing so.
