New Delhi: Airtel Payments Bank partners with Frontier Markets and Mastercard to support one lakh women-owned small businesses in India

Airtel Payments Bank has joined hands with Frontier Markets and Mastercard to empower one lakh women-owned small businesses in India, according to a press release. The initiative, called ‘She Leads Bharat: Udyam’, aims to provide upskilling opportunities and income generation options to these businesses based in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh through Frontier Markets’ Meri-Saheli platform.

This collaboration enables 10,000 female small business owners to expand their businesses and generate additional revenue by becoming Airtel Payments Bank Business Correspondents (BCs).

Airtel Payments Bank CEO Anubrata Biswas expressed his commitment to empower women in rural India in their entrepreneurial journeys and highlighted the partnership with Frontier Markets and Mastercard on She Leads Bharat: Udyam.

The Mastercard Impact Fund will fund this initiative, bringing their capital and global expertise from the Center for Inclusive Growth to provide tools, resources, and networks for women-owned small businesses. This initiative aligns with the growing trend of more women entrepreneurs entering India’s workforce, contributing to the country’s economic growth.

Mastercard President for Asia Pacific, Ari Sarker, emphasized the importance of access to credit and digital tools for these business owners, as it allows them to expand and become more resilient.
