McLeod Law LLP has received a mix of positive and negative reviews from their clients. While some clients have praised the attorneys for their professionalism and expertise, others have expressed dissatisfaction with the firm’s communication, billing practices, and overall experience. It is important to address these negative reviews and consider them when making a decision about which law firm to hire for your legal needs.

One client, Lesley Svendsen, had a positive experience with McLeod Law LLP, specifically with attorney Stephen Whitehead. She praised Stephen for his effective communication, attentiveness to her concerns, and ability to explain legal options in a way that was easy to understand. Lesley felt 100% better after speaking with Stephen and expressed her intention to keep him in her contacts for future legal needs. This positive review highlights the expertise and professionalism of some attorneys at McLeod Law LLP.

However, not all clients have had the same positive experience with McLeod Law LLP. David Clegg shared a negative review, stating that he was completely ignored by the firm despite multiple attempts to contact them. David visited the South location without an appointment, only to be handed a business card with incorrect email addresses. His detailed message about his situation was ignored by the attorneys he tried to reach, leading him to feel frustrated and ignored. This negative review raises concerns about the firm’s responsiveness and communication with clients.

Another client, S H, described a disappointing experience with McLeod Law LLP during the closing of their new house. While the attorney assigned by the builder, Christine, was okay, the Law Clerk, Rose Madriaga, was described as unpleasant, unfriendly, and rude. S H also mentioned difficulties in obtaining copies of their signed documents from the firm, despite multiple attempts to contact them. The firm also made a spelling mistake on a title document, adding to the client’s frustrations. This negative review highlights issues with customer service, communication, and attention to detail at McLeod Law LLP.

Amanda M raised concerns about overcharging and lack of transparency in billing practices at McLeod Law LLP. She claimed that the firm overcharged her by thousands above their quoted amount and refused to provide a breakdown of the charges despite multiple requests. This lack of transparency and alleged overcharging can be a significant issue for clients who are looking for clear and fair billing practices from their legal representation.

On the other hand, Chantel Gogowich had a positive experience with McLeod Law LLP, specifically mentioning the attorney Jackie for her kindness, helpfulness, and professionalism. Chantel recommended Jackie and the firm for all legal needs, highlighting the expertise and excellent service provided by some attorneys at the firm.

Considering the mix of positive and negative reviews for McLeod Law LLP, you may be hesitant to proceed with hiring this firm for your legal needs. In this case, you may want to explore an alternative option such as the Legalese Decoder. By considering the pros, cons, and potential risks of choosing an alternative law firm, you can make an informed decision about the best representation for your legal needs.

While they may offer competitive pricing and personalized attention, there is a risk that their services may not meet your expectations or desired outcomes.

2. Lack of Track Record: Without a long track record of successful cases and satisfied clients, Legalese Decoder may not have the same level of credibility and reputation as more established firms. This lack of a proven track record could raise concerns about their ability to effectively represent you in legal matters.

3. Limited Specialization: Depending on the specific legal services you require, Legalese Decoder may have limited specialization in certain areas of law. While they may offer a wide range of legal services, their expertise may not be as focused or comprehensive as larger firms that specialize in specific practice areas.

In conclusion, if you are considering hiring a new law firm for your legal needs in Calgary, AB, it is essential to weigh the pros, cons, and risks of choosing an alternative like Legalese Decoder over McLeod Law LLP. • Today I called McLeod Law and was referred to Stephen Whitehead. I left a message and received a call back within minutes. Stephen listened to my concerns and asked questions and spent 31 minutes talking with me. He was easy to talk to and made it easy to understand my options moving forward. I felt 100% better afterwards. I will definitely be keeping him in my contacts for any future lawyer needs

  • Don’t waste your time even reaching out to them. I’ve called and emailed and been completely ignored. I even walked in (to the South location) without an appointment, been handed a business card with two email addresses written on it. I emailed them both a detailed message about my situation and was ignored by one person and the second person’s email address must have been written down incorrectly by the receptionist because I got an automated bounceback. What a complete waste of time!

  • We recently did closing of our new house in Calgary and we decided to go with the Lawyer assigned by the builder ( McLeod Law and with Christine)

Christine was okay, we signed documents over FaceTime. Since, I was familiar with the documents, I didnÔÇÖt need more education on that but if you arenÔÇÖt familiar then I would recommend not using this lawyer as it was a super quick process. The Law Clerk, Rose Madriaga was absolutely unpleasant to deal with. She has zero customer skills, not friendly at all and was just plain rude. If you get contacted by Rose, please request a different clerk cause she will make your experience HORRIBLE.

We did our closing back in June of 2023 and we have been waiting since then to get our copies of the signed documents back from them. I have been emailing them since August regarding our copies and they have not responded at all (so far have sent them 3 emails and called few times as well). To top it off, they made a spelling mistake on a title document. The name on the land title is incorrect, so that is another headache we have to deal with.

Based on our experience, we will not recommend this firm.

  • They’ll overcharge by thousands above their quoted amount and then refuse to give you a breakdown of the charges even after multiple requests. I do not recommend them at all.

  • Jackie at McLeod was very kind, helpful, and professional. I would definitely recommend her and this law firm for all your legal needs! Thanks again Jackie for your expertise.
