Why didnÔÇÖt they accept that? My son is a minor and gets SSI. His money gets deposited into a savings account that I opened for him (in his name but IÔÇÖm attached to it due to him being a minor). I just transfer the money after into my account to pay for things he needs and put it towards household bills or groceries.

Only the adult has to be present with ID and the SSA letter to open this account. I worked in banking for 17yrs, some banks are different and may have different requirements.
