## Concerns About Deceased Landlady’s Dogs
Hi, I’m in a situation that has me worried about my deceased landlady/roommate’s dogs.
### Background and Current Situation
For context, my roommate (who owned the house) got sick the beginning of December and died Boxing Day. I will not disclose any other information regarding how she died.
She had two dogs, which my other roommate and I looked after while she was in hospital, and have been looking after since she passed. The dogs have been willed to someone, so that isn’t the issue. What IS the issue is that a) we have been looking after these dogs for two, nearly three months, b) we are waiting on a letter telling us we have two months’ notice to leave, and c) we don’t know when these dogs are going to the person they were willed to.
### Legal Implications and Concerns
They should not be our responsibility, and yet at this moment they are. We don’t know when the executors of the will are coming to remove everything from the house. They have told us we’re not allowed to have anyone stay the night. We’re told we’re not allowed to go in certain rooms (such as the loungeroom–not even to clean. My roommate got in trouble for vacuuming.)
If, in the event that my roommate and I leave before the two months are up, the dogs have not been given to the person they were willed to, who will look after the dogs in that scenario? Is it legal that we look after the dogs while being told when to vacate?
### How AI Legalese Decoder Can Help
AI Legalese Decoder can assist in analyzing the legal language of the will and advising on the responsibilities and rights of the parties involved. It can help decipher any confusing legal terms and provide clarity on the situation. Additionally, it can provide guidance on your rights as temporary caretakers of the dogs and what steps can be taken to ensure their well-being until a permanent arrangement is made.
Any advice is welcome. I’m worried about what happens to the dogs when we aren’t here to look after them as we have already been doing.

****** just grabbed a
Its the executors responsibility. Simply outline to them that you are no longer able to care for the dogs and they will need to collect them by a stated date (best to give them a reasonable period to organise an alternative arrangement). If they fail to action it by that date, you have two options, put them in a dog hotel/vet housing, then you can chase/sue the estate for the cost incurred or otherwise simply abandon them to the council, outlining to the council that the microchip owner is deceased and who the executor of the estate is.
