The Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce, and Logan County Chamber of Commerce today held a check presentation event to award the first round of Tornado Relief Emergency Fund Small Business Grant Recipients.

This grant is intended to provide relief to small businesses in Logan County that were adversely impacted by the tornadoes and severe weather that took place on Thursday, March 14th, 2024. Funds were raised through the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Research Foundation and distributed by the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce.

There is no requirement of membership to any of the three Chambers in order to apply.

“We aim to support the entire business community and ensure its success,” said the Ohio Chamber President and CEO, Steve Stivers. “Our goal is to help any small businesses that were impacted by the storms in March, regardless of whether they’re chamber members or not.”

This grant serves as a bridge to help businesses in the immediate aftermath of the tornado before other funding resources become available. They can be used for out-of-pocket expenses needed to resume business operations.

“We are honored to be selected as a grant recipient on behalf of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and county partners,” said Brenda Moots, Founder and Owner of Indian Lake Outfitters and The Depot. “As a brick-and-mortar store that was closed and literally in the dark for a full 21 days, this grant will be extremely helpful in getting The Depot and Indian Lake Outfitters re-open for business.”

Sixteen small businesses located in the Indian Lake area were awarded grant funds in this first wave. A second wave is expected in the coming months.

Recipients Include:

• Lakeview Padrone’s Pizza – Opened in June of 2005 in Downtown Lakeview. For 19 years, they have been a local favorite for pickup and delivery of pizza across the Indian Lake region
• Violet Salon & Spa – Yellow Violet Salon & Spa opened in 2018 and is a popular nail and beauty services salon in Russells Point
• Indian Head Roadhouse – Established in 2008, this lakefront restaurant is a top destination for locals and tourists alike for a casual lunch, dinner, or drinks
• Indian Lake Outfitters – This 14-year-old business in Downtown Lakeview provides an outdoor skills and service shop for firearms and archery. The building is also home to “The Depot” which serves as a destination, retail, and gift shop for the Lake area
• Oasis Drive-Thru – Lake residents and tourists alike enjoy this Downtown Lakeview drive-thru retail and liquor store for their grab-and-go needs
• Downtown Discount Grocery – Located in Downtown Lakeview, this third-generation grocery store has been providing essential access to quality foods for the Lakeview Community for 24 years
• Stanley’s Asphalt Paving & Sealcoating – For over 20 years, Stanley’s has been serving Logan County and the surrounding community with commercial and residential paving, seal coating, and line striping
• Robin Beelman, LMT – Robin operates a licensed massage therapy practice through Luxe Beauty Salon in Downtown Lakeview. Robin has been serving clients around the community for over 20 years
• Frontier Cottages – Located between Lakeview and Russells Point along State Route 366, Frontier Cottages has been providing short-term accommodations to guests visiting the Indian Lake area for 17 years
• All Around Accounting –  Co-located with Indian Lake Printing & Advertising in Downtown Lakeview with common ownership, All Around Accounting has been providing accounting and payroll services to the community since 2008
• Indian Lake Printing & Advertising – Providing commercial design and printing services to the area since 1966
• CJ’s Lakeside Tavern – CJ’s Lakeside Tavern is a local establishment serving the Lakeview Community in Logan County for over 14 years. For many residents, CJ’s is a safe hometown spot that provides entertainment and community
• Wishmeyer Farms – As part of the essential agriculture industry in Logan County, an independent grain farm has been operating for 38 years just east of Indian Meadows along State Route 366 in the Indian Lake area
• Golf Cart World –  Established in 2015 near Russells Point, Golf Cart World is a community partner that provides golf cart, sales and service to Indian Lake in the surrounding area
• IvyGate Flower Farm –  IvyGate is a boutique flower farm that grows and sells environmentally friendly flowers and other natural materials for design purposes used in weddings, events, and special occasions. The business was started in 2022 in Lakeview and has steadily grown since
• ReCanvas –  ReCanvas is a Logan County Indian Lake business that provides boats, golf carts, and pontoon upholstery and canvas repairs
• Lakeview Auto Repair – Founded in 1995, Lakeview Auto Repair is a trusted mechanic shop providing car maintenance and repair services to the Indian Lake community
• Lighthouse Plumbing – Serving the Indian Lake area since 2010, Lighthouse Plumbing is a family-owned business that specializes in residential and commercial plumbing services
• Beachside Bait & Tackle – Located on the shores of Indian Lake, Beachside Bait & Tackle has been providing fishing supplies and equipment since 2000
• Indian Lake Winery – Established in 1996, Indian Lake Winery is a local vineyard and winery producing a variety of wines from grapes grown in the fertile soil surrounding Indian Lake
• Pixel Perfect Photography – Pixel Perfect Photography is a photography studio in Downtown Lakeview specializing in portrait, wedding, and event photography since 2012
• Shady Acres Campground & RV Park – Shady Acres has been welcoming campers and RV enthusiasts to the Indian Lake region since 1987, offering a peaceful and scenic setting for outdoor recreational activities
• Golden Harvest Bakery – Founded in 1980, Golden Harvest Bakery is a beloved bakery in the Indian Lake community known for its delicious baked goods and friendly service
• Trailside Bike & Canoe Rental – Trailside Bike & Canoe Rental has been providing outdoor enthusiasts with bike and canoe rentals to explore the scenic trails and waters of Indian Lake since 1998
• Lakeview Hardware Store – Opening its doors in 1975, Lakeview Hardware Store is a one-stop shop for all hardware and home improvement needs in the Lakeview area
• Indian Lake Diner – A local favorite since 1963, Indian Lake Diner is a classic American diner serving hearty meals and friendly hospitality to residents and visitors alike
• Sailor’s Point Marina – Sailor’s Point Marina has been a premier marina and boating destination on Indian Lake since 1972, offering boat slip rentals, fuel, and marine services
