Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Wise requires that the payee/receiver necessarily be the same name as the account holder of the transferring account. It’s been a while since I used Wise, but I seem to remember being able to register multiple payees and there not being a stipulation that the names must match.
(Someone with more experience please correct me for OP if I am wrong.)
I don’t think Wise requires account names to match – after all, you can use it to send money to other people. If you describe it as transfer of own funds and the names don’t match they may ask some questions, but at that point you could probably show them your two passports with matching photos or something?
Only the sending account needs to match with Wise. The receiving account doesn’t need to be. Then you can sign up with another service, like Revolut, in the other country for transfers in the other direction.
itÔÇÖs best you consult a lawyer first. Japan does not allow dual citizenship, though with some possible exceptions.
In the unlikely case, screwup here could possibly mean losing Jp citizenship in the future
Wise does allow you to send money to other people, so you could just treat your destination bank as someone else’s bank account.
As long as it’s clear that it’s for someone else, I don’t think there should be any issues.
