Local leadership on hand for ribbon cutting

The Central Region Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC) recently hosted a luncheon and ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of its new office in the Cortex Innovation Center (Cortex) in St. Louis. Cortex, located in St. Louis City, is an innovation community serving as an inclusive economic engine for the region.

Featured speakers at the event included U.S. Representative Cori Bush, St. Louis County Councilwoman Shalonda Webb, St. Louis Economic Development Partnership CEO & President Rodney Crim and Chairman, President and CEO of St. Louis Development Corporation Neil Richardson. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Transportation, SBTRC and the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) also spoke at the ceremony.

The Central Region SBTRC provides services to disadvantaged business enterprises and other small businesses from the civil transportation industry in Missouri, plus neighboring states Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas and Mississippi. This includes helping minority and women-owned businesses. The WBDC operates the Central Region SBTRC through a cooperative agreement with U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Utilization.
