This it why I never book trough crappy third parties. ItÔÇÖs usually not allot cheaper, missed connections due to delay is a nightmare, refunds is a nightmare. Anything related to the ticket after purchase a nightmare

Tell this to your legal insurance and they’ll handle it.

PPS: I put Germany in the title because that’s my official residence right now.

Phone calls are useless. Write an official letter to the seller and the airline with your demands. Send the letter, keep the proof that the letter was sent (proof of sending, and proof of the letters content (for example you could make an official copy)). If they donÔÇÖt reply, contact the German civil aviation administration or Consumer protection administration (not sure in Germany). Give them proof of the canceled flight and of the sent letters and they shall handle the matter for you. Or you can try a specialised agency to handle the matter for you, but they will want a provision from the amount you get from the airline.

    Which airline?

In the UK can start the court process to claim £560 for £70:

In theory it means you would put the facts to a judge who could legally compel the airline to pay, but the few times I used this, the company paid up as soon as they got there court letter.

Even telling them you are going to do this as your next step in a formal way would probably be enough.
You should reference the relevant legislation when you make the claim.

I got around Ôé¼500 back from KLM using this tactic and a lot of patience.

    Good luck!

Last your I had kind of the same situation and got paid back Ôé¼800,- for a Ôé¼200,- flight.

You should mail them with a claim for money.
According to European legislation EC 261 you should be able to ask for compensation, but only if they didnÔÇÖt offer you a replacement flight or if you didnÔÇÖt accept some other form of compensation. Link: https://www.airhelp.com/en-int/eu-flight-delay-compensation/

Send the airline a mail and include the rules that apply to your situation. Then demand they pay up within 2 weeks. You donÔÇÖt need to send proof because the rules in the EU are really consumer friendly and they sure as hell know they have no chance in court.

Lol.. Got 8 flights (3 trips) cancelled during Corona. Got refunded 2 out of 8. Was offered a replacement flight for another 2 (within the same year, in which the company didnÔÇÖt operate) and for the other 4 I could essentially just fuck right off. Bankrupt/force majeure..

The fact that it was money we saved for years to visit my partnerÔÇÖs family on the other side of the world or that several members of said family were not too well was completely irrelevant.

Spent days arguing over the phone with customer service to no avail and received a letter back from several institutions that they couldnt do anything either Even some of the we help you get your money back at no initial cost, we take 10% of your returns..

Still angry. Good luck with your mission, thanks for letting me vent here!
