****** just grabbed a
1. I did provincial in Canada which is kinda like State in US.
2. I was in PC but couldn’t survive, had to move to the Special Handling Unit when my charges got made and I got bounced from all the ranges in the PC tower. All’s it takes is one guard telling an inmate or two or inmates looking you up. Also note not all facilities may have PC and SHU.
3. Needed to get counselling due to severe anxiety + PTSD and because I wanted to get more insight on my offence and behaviour just as I was when I seeked therapy when I was outside. Its important to learn that what you did was wrong and how to mitigate thoughts and feelings about sexual desires and behaviours.
4. If they’re willing to hear you out then sure. Otherwise sexual offences are the lowest rung of the pecking order. Stay close to other SOs and don’t interact with the mainstream much. Never trust anyone. Especially if its mainstream saying they’re ok with you, it might be so you lower your defence and they attack. Don’t easily trust, always think twice and thrice. Go to my profile and comments/posts, I have pretty much set out best actions for survival.
5. Depends on staff… some are professional and do things right regardless of charge. Others will make you feel like you are a scumbag therefore should be given hell. Don’t over ask for things don’t be assertive and don’t cause trouble.
(I am not the SO, these are my partners answers)
1. State
2. No
3. Some, not a lot
4. Murder every single one? Yeah, itÔÇÖs not like that. Nobody was out to murder anyone just for being a SO.
5. N/A
1. State of VA DOC
2. No protective custody ever
3. last 1.5 years was in the SORT program
4. this of course depends greatly on what state, what prison, what level, but the myth of all sex offenders being murdered in prison is a joke and is evidenced by how many are on the registry. If we all got killed how is the registry so full? In VA at the low levels it was about 30% of the population that were sex offenders. People ran their mouths but unless you caused yourself problems, you were fine.
5. N/A
1. State
2. Spent 6 months in a Residential Substance and Alcohol Treatment (RSAT) program house. 50 guys in the ÔÇ£houseÔÇØ all trying to complete the program to, in most cases, take some time off their sentences and/or make parole. No one wants to get in any trouble for the most part. If you have used alcohol or drugs in the last just be honest because life was much easier in this house rather than a General Population house. When I finished the program I was sent to a house that was filled with other SOÔÇÖs and supposedly snitches. It was a protective custody house. In my opinion snitches are disliked more than SOÔÇÖs
3. Sex Offender Treatment program (SOP) met in group classroom settings
2-3 times / week
4.itÔÇÖs all about your attitude. If youÔÇÖre an asshole on top of being a SO they definitely wonÔÇÖt like you. If you are nice to people yet you stand up for yourself when needed they will respect that. Again for the most part no one is looking for trouble and thereÔÇÖs way more gang related trouble than SO related trouble. Some of the guys that were in the high level SOP program (sentences of 10+ years) walked around the yard no problem.
5. N/A
If you are in federal low prison, unless you mess with someone, they leave you alone. just do your time and you will hangout with other so.

State: Florida
Open population
Received counseling only because I requested it to lower my custody so I could try to get work release.
Some inmates will get their people on the outside to look up cases of certain inmates. But they do differentiate between the nature of the charge.
For the most part I never had any issues. Only with an inmate that I actually went to school with who found out what I was in for. Nothing serious really ever happened though.
1. federal low security
2. no
3. i had to attend mandatory therapy for over 2 years after coming out of incarceration
4. mostly no. they classify everyone as chomo (child moleter).
5. treatment seems to be fair in my experience
There is no such thing as ÔÇÿconsensual sexÔÇÖ with someone under the age of consent
