Have you tried temp agencies they are a way to get your feet in the door of some places while earning a paycheck. If you have trouble waking up, ask them to find you some afternoon work..something coming in is better than nothing

IMO, you need to release any idea of having a job you like or find emotionally fulfilling. You dont have the luxary of being picky.

And focus on finding something that will allow you to be independent with a roof over your head and food on the table.

Clock in. Work your 8 hours. Get the paper. Go home.

Second, get your ass out of bed. Every day.

Go to the gym. Many dont do background checks. Spend an hour there. Most of them now even have private showers. Clean, private showers. Youll get your body moving and clean. Youll get your mind right.

What you can be picky about is how you spend your free time. By doing activities that are emotionally fulfilling.

Focus on what you can do. Not what you cant.

    Where are you?

First off my advice would be to look at the registry and see where other RSOs are employed at and go apply there. Second, I am not sure the basis or your lawsuit so we are not a protected class. Good luck

You can try, but youÔÇÖre not going to get a life out of suing everyone that wonÔÇÖt give you a job, because you did things that put into question your trustworthiness.

As far as not wanting to work in particular industries.this is the consequences of our actions, that we took, which put us in our current situation.

I get the depression. IÔÇÖve been there, but self pity is hands down the most unproductive thing we can do. ItÔÇÖs not empowering, and itÔÇÖs a self fulfilling prophecy.

Keep working man. ItÔÇÖs hard. REALLY hard, but itÔÇÖs possible to make a life for yourself. It took me a long time to stop feeling sorry for myself and blaming everyone else for why things sucked. Nothing got better till I realized I put myself here and only I can better my situation.

    Best of luck!

DonÔÇÖt give up! Have you thought about going back to college or trade school maybe? Our society is very ignorant, but there are still good people out there too. Try to find work that also helps others.

My advocacy for anyone in our situation is to start your own company. It’s not easy, but $20 is $20. Get a bucket, squeegee, proper window cleaning soaps, (available at Lowe’s) and go out to stores and even door to door to wash windows. Get a lawn mower and go around mowing lawns. Later buy a pressure washer and go around looking for jobs. Look for self-employed jobs that you don’t need a license for. Handyman

Before I went in to sentencing I knew I could never return to my old job in any capacity. So, I spent months putting my future company together including getting a phone number, address, business cards, signs, trailer, equipment, etc. So that when I came out, after licking my wounds for 1 day only, I got my first job taking trash to the dump in my trailer. I made $20 that day. When I woke up that day, I didn’t have that $20. When I went to bed, I did.

So far, I’ve had no luck being allowed to get a license such as home inspector or real estate. Just do work that doesn’t require a license.

It sounds like I make lots of money based on what I’m about to write…I don’t really, but it pays the bills. I still use food stamps and Medicaid, but I own 2 companies … handyman and real estate, and am 50/50 partner in 2 other real estate companies. I own 30+ rental properties and have done 10 flips over the past 7 years or so. I’m now working for other investors helping them to flip their houses. I live in a place owned by me and a partner. I’m independent of the rules that landlords and HOAs might place on me.

No…it’s not easy. But it’s doable. I was by far not a person to do these jobs … I have 3 masters degrees from well-known and prestigious universities, so I didn’t know how to do any of the stuff I’m doing, but necessity is the mother of invention, so I figured it out.

Don’t let the system or the bastards win. Deal with it every day. Force yourself to win.

Im a trucker my situation is a little different because I was in my line of work before I was convicted. Long story short, I was falsely accused and convicted, my family, friends and coworkers all knew it.
After maxing out my sentence, 10 years, the company I drove for hired me right back. After being back in the game for a while now my choices in jobs have greatly increased despite being an ROS. Are there companies that wont hire me because of it yes, and Im unable to get a Hazmat endorsement to increase my job choices.
If youÔÇÖre looking for steady work, a well paying career after a bit of experience and like to travel, consider getting a CDL.
If youÔÇÖre a cross country driver and have nothing tying you down anywhere, you could literally live in the truck for a while and save a LOT of money.
It wonÔÇÖt be easy finding your first job with no experience and being a convicted felon but someone will give you a chance at some point. If you go through a private school they also have job placement to assist you with.
Once you gain a little experience and save some money you can buy your own truck so you donÔÇÖt have to worry about getting hired anywhere as well.

I dont think a lawsuit would work. These companies arent asking for a background check just to see. They would not be published if they were not to be used.

You can’t sue for discrimination… sex offenders are not a protected class.

IÔÇÖm in a similar situation. YouÔÇÖre not alone! I DmÔÇÖd you
