So the best thing you can do is keep busy with something else and not think about it. Some people literally wait years, and other people only wait weeks or days. You will drive yourself insane thinking about it if you’re already very scared. I know that’s easier said than done, but do yourself a favor and don’t check the app daily or weekly.

I had my C&P (for a deffered claim) on April 5th. That C&P doctor was so friendly and said that he would get it submit back to the VA that night… on April 6th (saturday, I saw the DBQ was uploaded to my file and later in the day on the 6th, my claim moved to PFD stage. It’s now April 10th and my claim just moved to PDA… So, in my case, it took 4 business days in that stage.

PFD is the longest stage of waiting, enjoy the ride and constant need to check the app.

Pick a new hobby, practice it and wait for a deposit. PFD is the longest wait for some. Checking daily is gonna drive you nuts. Just relax and know that they have everything they need and it’ll be rated when it’s your turn. I know it’s easier said than done but the obsession will only lead to more anxiety. Set it and forget it.

Waiting now is nothing like a bva ride. Ya gotta wait years to see movement.

My first claim i didn’t know there was a way to check the status…it was actually great. Now that I have the VA app I check my claim daily.

  • Scared-Ad2850

Yeah, for me it was fast too. Tbh this is my second time filing and i havent really had to wait months in between like most people. You could be getting that letter in less than a month or three really no telling.

How do I find the va claim tracker

  • Chronic_Overthink3r

PFD is the longest wait. It means nothing either way to jump to that stage quickly. I waited a year in Planning for Decision. Good luck!

  • Ok-Pace-4321

Unless you have a supplemental then you know nothing until the claim is decided Filed in August on month 8 waiting for PACT ACT claims

  • SureOne8347

I had an Optum C&P submitted same day! I was nervous going in, and don’t know what it says, but it was done very fast.

  • Familiar-Accident-10

I waited for about a month before assigned a temp jurisdiction. After that, it went quick

  • Anarchy31

Same. Had ACE C&P exam on April 1st with DBQ uploaded the same day. Been in PFD since that day.

  • Matthmaroo

I was PFD for 107 days on an increase

  • OrganicVariation2803

If you’re worried, call Vera. They can read the DBQ and findings to you over the phone. As long as it says “as likely as unlikely” you’re good. If it says “less likely than unlikely” get ready to submit for an appeal

  • Notmebeingsnoopy

    What app is that?

  • Disastrous_Drive_764

One of my claims had 2 that were deferred & I had a C&P last week. My NP was also both shocked & dismayed at the state of affairs on the two issues she was reviewing. Let’s just say X-rays and neurology/pharmacy reports don’t lie. I noticed today my status on the tracker updated again. I’m not PDA yet but my “evidence gathering” date changed to 4/11/24 and these are the last two outstanding issues on my claim.

TBH my X-rays on my ankles were worse than I thought they’d be & even though I only claimed one foot I’m not gonna be shocked if she puts in for both since she X-rayed both.
