Since all SSA offices are all using / sharing the same Federal database, any SSA office should be able to handle your request for assistance. A few years ago while on an out of state trip, I went that county’s SSA office (400 miles from my town) and got assistance with something. They hooked me right up.

    >wondering if they would accept it.

It makes no difference where you go.

The state I live in you have to make an appointment with your local ss office, mine was all done by phone.

I went to one to fix my wife’s SSN. It was not our local one.

But I asked them about AUX benefits because I have SSDI.

They told me I must go to the local one to apply.

So it all depends on what you are asking them to do.
