    .15% BlackRock and .35% Monzo

  • atworksoonlysfwforme

I’m through the waitlist if anyone has any questions.

Can’t buy individual stocks, just three different Blackrock funds at different risk levels.

Seems like they’re more targeting people who don’t currently invest or the kinda people who’d only invest in Vanguard or similar.

It’s pretty nice so far, but u don’t see a reason to move my ISA away from vanguard at this stage.

Monevator did an article on it recently…

I opened one of these. I inherited some money when my dad passed away and have never really had savings and definitely no investments. Being able to do it in a couple of clicks through the app was pretty nice honestly, and for the first time I have a S&S ISA.

The fees do seem to be on the higher side for this type of thing but it’s probably designed for people like me to get started. Maybe in a couple of years if I’m happy with it I can look to move it but for now it’s super convenient.

DonÔÇÖt keep all of your assets in one place, spread them out so that if thereÔÇÖs an issue all of your net worth isnÔÇÖt suddenly inaccessible or lost. You should bank with different banks to your partner for security because weÔÇÖve seen families become homeless after having accounts blocked or in the uk when northern rock collapsed.

I use vanguard which is very low cost and have different bank accounts and another portfolio of stocks on a brokerage so I always have access if one or more fails. As cyber attacks become more common we should be weary of this issue as banks arenÔÇÖt as safe as most people think.
