I remember both start & end. For years, I had nightmares of being imprisoned again. Thankfully those have gone away.

Survived by thinking I was on a space mission (isolated from Earth) and counting in chicken days units (every fortnight, we got chicken legs)
I got great survival tips from the long incarcerated brother of my sisters best friend (in the 80s, he was criminally prosecuted on state crimes for having unlawful same sex relationship) and that gave me the confidence to be tougher than I was ever in there.
