To qualify for Social Security disability benefits due to vision loss, a person must meet specific criteria. Social Security defines legal blindness as having a visual acuity of 20/200 or less in their better eye with correction or a field of vision that is less than 20 degrees in the better eye.

I am not wishing blindness to happen to you, but all through SSDI policy, legally blind applicants and recipients have more generous policies about SGA as well as insured status.
Legal blindness does not have to be total blindness.
What is your current Date Last Insured? Can you earn 4 credits this year? At $1640 a credit, it takes working 9 hours a week at $15 an hour for 50 weeks to earn the maximum 4 credits. Since you say you are currently working, it is possible for you to regain insured status for disability at some point in the near future. If you want to list your credits in the last 10 or 12 years, I could try to guess your future Date First Insured.
How much a month are you currently earning (gross)? Is it over SGA $1470 or not? Can you live on $1469 a month? Wondering if it might be a good idea to file SSI now and continue to work, while staying under SGA. What other income and resources do you have? Married with a working spouse?
I keep thinking about this. If you are close to being legally blind (again, not what I hope for you) SGA for blindness and insured status for blindness is different and SSA should not deny your initial application unless you are over the blinds SGA. Then SSA has to make a decision based on medical records, if you are blind or not blind.

Can’t help you with deciphering vision field tests. I bet you can find a Reddit community for people with vision loss and get lots of opinions and points of view.
Might even be able to find an advocate in the blind community or organizations, especially if your vision impairment is progressive.
To be declared ‘Statutory Blind” for SSA purposes, your vision in the better eye has to be 20/400 or worse. Do you meet this criteria (20/400 or worse in the better eye)?
Statutory Blind for SSA purposes, has it’s own criteria for work credits. All other disabilities have the following work credit requirements:
* You meet the ‘fully insured status’ for work credits (i.e. you have atleast 1 work credit for every year from age 22 and on (maximum required is 40). AND;
* in the last 40 quarters of an established onset date for disability, you have atleast 20 quarters of coverage (20/40 test) for disability qualifications. If you only started working in 2020, the most quarters of coverage you could have right now is 16 quarters. That is a maximum of 4 being earned each year. So you would not meet the 20/40 test.

40 credits is only for retirement. But at your age, you need both 30ish total work credits plus a recent work test. Plainly put, you must have worked five of the past ten years, or, technically, 20 of the last 40 quarters
You definitely need to follow up with a doctor for the glaucoma. You don’t need an advocate for SSDI. Just go on their website and apply. Everything you need to do is on the website. Your doctors will be contacted for your records, you do not need to request them. If you need help in the meantime, check with your state’s county health department or look up the website for the social services and contact them. They should be able to determine what they can help you with and what you qualify for in terms of aid. I hope this helps.
If you are disabled (not blind) you need to be both currently and fully insured. Fully insured requires up to 40 credits depending on age. Current insurance requires 20 credits earned in the 40 credits period before your alleged onset date in becoming disabled, which is equal to 5/10 years.
If you are blind (using their definition) you only need to be fully insured.
