This isnÔÇÖt related to social security per se, but I believe the answer is any loans taken out while disabled cannot be discharged under tpd, and that a requirement of tpd is that your werenÔÇÖt disabled at the time of the loan but then later became disabled.

You could try to get voc rehab to pay for schooling but that depends on how well funded yours is

If you set up a PASS plan, you can put your SSDI payment aside for tuition and you may not need a loan.

If you are putting all of your SSDI into your PASS plan, it won’t count as income and you will become eligible for SSI. It was a tight squeeze for me but sure beat taking out any loans.

Almost all of my loans were taken out AFTER I was on disability and all were discharged without issue. There is no rule saying your loans canÔÇÖt be discharged if taken out when disabled. If you have your loans discharged and then you want to take out more federal loans you have to have a statement from
your doctor saying you are able to do SGA. Those new, post discharge loans will only be discharged if your condition significantly deteriorates or you develop a new, disabling condition.

Do u have loans discharged now? I heard going to school could have them pull ur disability.
