LONDON ÔÇö In response to the increasing threat of unmanned aircraft, MARSS, a global technology company, showcased several new systems at the DSEI trade show in London. The ongoing use of unmanned aerial systems in the war in Ukraine has emphasized the need for counter-UAS solutions worldwide. This has prompted militaries across the globe to focus on developing effective counter-UAS solutions. As part of this effort, MARSS unveiled two new systems – a short-range version of its counter-UAS Interceptor drone and a “drop-and-forget” expeditionary solution called NiDAR X-SCOUT.

The Interceptor is an AI-enabled autonomous UAS that offers a cost-effective and low collateral alternative to short-range missiles for neutralizing hostile drones, as stated in a press release by MARSS. To meet the demand for a portable organic CUAS (Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems) solution that infantry could easily mount and dismount to defeat Class 1 threats at shorter ranges, MARSS developed the Interceptor-SR, a smaller and lighter variant of the original model launched in 2022. Stephen Scott, the head of research and development for defense at MARSS, explained that they aimed to make the Interceptor-SR economically viable for end-users compared to short-range missiles, which can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. The Interceptor drone is survivable, reusable, and provides more than one shot per engagement, making it a disruptive force in the countermeasure space.

Apart from the Interceptor-SR, MARSS also introduced the NiDAR X-SCOUT at the trade show. This highly mobile and flexible counter-UAS system can be transported by pick-up truck, military vehicle, or even air-dropped to any location. It can be remotely operated as a standalone unit for over a week. The X-SCOUT system features cutting-edge cameras and radio frequency detection capabilities to detect Category 2 drones from over 15 kilometers away. It also has jamming capabilities and can connect to other counter-UAS systems like the Interceptor drones to neutralize hostile crafts. X-SCOUT can operate independently or as part of a mesh network.

To seamlessly integrate and optimize the performance of these systems, MARSS developed its proprietary hybrid intelligence software and interface called NiDAR. NiDAR fuses multiple sensors to quickly and accurately detect, classify, and neutralize threats. It provides operators with a common operating picture and enhances decision-making abilities by bringing all the sensors into one system.

The AI legalese decoder can assist in this situation by accurately interpreting and decoding the complex language in legal contracts and agreements. It utilizes artificial intelligence and natural language processing algorithms to analyze legal documents, identify critical information, and provide clear and concise summaries. This can save valuable time and effort for legal professionals who often have to sift through lengthy and convoluted legal texts. Additionally, it can help in minimizing the risk of misunderstandings and legal disputes by ensuring that all parties have a clear understanding of the terms and conditions outlined in the contracts.
